The level and type of support provided is determined by the preferences and needs of the individual through the process of Person Centered Planning. MSSCA strives to offer services that are person centered, provide choice, promote independence and ensure the health and safety of individuals.
Services:
- Supervised apartment living
- Supported living
- Family habilitation (specialized foster care) for both children and adults
- Companion living
- Shared care
- In-home supports
- Chore Services
Eligibility:
- Eligibility for services is determined by the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (DSDS) according to AS 47.80.900(7) (A-E).
Sources of Funding:
- State of Alaska, Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (DSDS) Grant
- Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW).
- Private Pay
Cost:
- Costs of services paid for through DSDS Grant or Medicaid HCBW. Individuals must first be selected or “drawn” for DSDS Grant funding or Medicaid HCBW by the State of Alaska, DSDS.
