Core funding is a mechanism to offer individuals waiting for full services a basic package of services to avert crises and address quality of life needs.
Case Management—assist an individual or family in coordinating, managing, and accessing programs and resources
Dental, medical, or any therapies (i.e., speech, mental health, physical, family counseling, etc.)
Developmental materials, developmental toys and devices
Specialized and adaptive equipment
Transportation assistance to gain access to community services; supported employment educational, recreational and other activities
Eligibility:
In order to receive Core Services individuals must have been found eligible for services as determined by the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (DSDS) according to AS47.80.900(7)(A-E)AND be on the State of Alaska Waitlist for services.
Any person receiving Core Services cannot receive any other annualized funding from DSDS (e.g., Grant funding or Home & Community Based Waiver services).

Cost:
Costs of services paid for through Medicaid HCBW. Individuals must first be selected or “drawn’ for DSDS grant funding by the State of Alaska, DSDS.
