Community Supports provide opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities to develop personal competencies and become fully included within the community in which they reside.
Services:
Support individuals in developing independence in a variety of areas, including social, communication, health, self-help, vocational, and self-advocacy.
Develop skills through participation through participation in a variety of community-based activities that may include:
Leisure activities
Volunteer work
Physical fitness activities
Self-help groups
Clubs or associations
Self-advocacy
Eligibility:
Eligibility for services is determined by the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (DSDS) according to AS 47.80.900(7) (A-E).

Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW)
Private Pay
Cost:
Costs of services paid for through Medicaid HCBW. Individuals must first be selected or “drawn” for a Medicaid HCBW by the State of Alaska, DSDS.
